Landscapes for Guitar

Landscapes for Guitar

Concert guitarist and University of Stellenbosch guitar lecturer Nina Fourie-Gouws, and award winning animator and motion design artist Gerard Seymour join forces for a unique multi-disciplinary production that juxtaposes striking and virtuosic compositions for classical guitar with dramatic animated works of art.  This exciting production sets virtuosic programme music, often evocative of awe inspiring landscapes, to a backdrop of animated works of art, exploring the connection between music and art, the physical, mental and metaphysical.

Gerard Seymour skilfully interweaves animation with mixed media styles of art including dark charcoal, strong black & white photographic elements, inks and contrasted line art. Special guest performances include acclaimed Flamenco dancer and choreographer Che Adams and the Stellenbosch Guitar Quartet.

This was great! Fantastic project, wonderfully original concept. The animation and playing both were just beautiful. Congratulations!
