Concert guitarist and University of Stellenbosch guitar lecturer Nina Fourie-Gouws, and award winning animator and motion design artist Gerard Seymour join forces to debut a unique multi-disciplinary production that juxtaposes striking and virtuosic compositions for classical guitar with dramatic animated works of art. This exciting production sets programme music, evocative of awe inspiring landscapes, to a backdrop of animated works of art, exploring the connection between music and art, the physical, mental and metaphysical. Audience members will be transported across three millennia on a musical journey across South America, Spain and Turkey, from pastoral landscapes and bustling streets, to majestic cathedrals and haunted houses. Guest artists include acclaimed Flamenco dancer and choreographer Che Adams, artistic director of Tierra Flamenca Dance Company and the Stellenbosch Konservatorium Guitar Quartet (with Brent January, Damian Christians and Marius Otto).

Following the runaway success of LA FEMME, classical guitarist Nina Fourie-Gouws and Flamenco dance sensation Tanya Diamond have joined forces again to create a new musical-movement inspired production, Shoes & Strings! Connoisseurs as well as novice audience members will be transported across three millennia on a journey from majestic cathedrals, pastoral landscapes to the bustling night clubs and cafes of South America and Spain. With multiple sold-out performances and standing ovations at Woordfees 2019, Classics for AllFestival and Klein Karoo Klassique, this formidable duo breaks down the boundaries between the melodious, virtuosic and structured world of classical guitar and the expressive, explosive and highly improvisational nature of flamenco dancing. Guest artists include Ania Adamiak (viola, jaleos and palmas) and Rae-Dawn Sandilands (bailaora, cajon and castanets). This unique multi-disciplinary production reaches out to a wide range of audience members from different age groups and cultural backgrounds by juxtaposing beautiful and complex melodies with exciting virtuosic technical displays while providing a visual feast for the eyes through contemporary Flamenco dance.
